Why do we need vitamin supplements

We need vitamin supplements because we cannot always obtain adequate amounts of them form our diet. Many people, who take vitamin supplements, feel better and do better. Every time we process food, it losses its nutritional value. For example, as soon as we start peeling an orange, vitamin C contained within that orange starts disappearing. If we juice that orange, we leave about 30 percent of vitamin C behind in the residues of the section membranes. The reason why vitamin C starts disappearing is because it is very sensitive to oxygen. Our body needs specific amounts of all the vitamins to carry out all the biological tasks optimally. If we aren’t getting those specific amounts of vitamins (as per RDA) from our diet, we need to take vitamin supplements to keep our body healthy and functioning at its best.
